Welcome Dr Ying Tang
Let’s get to know Dr Ying, a quirky, fabulous new Vet with a passion for the exotics.
Dr Ying graduated from The University of Melbourne in 2016. Before joining the team, Ying worked at Brighton Vet Care, a busy clinic in Singapore for two years. There, she saw a variety of animals ranging from dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, hamsters and the occasional terrapin and bird. She also enjoys all forms of diagnostics (especially microscopy work and ultrasonography). Loving all creatures, she doesn't have a favourite animal but loves wombats, alpacas, goats, bearded dragons, chickens, beavers, mudskippers, nudibranchs and cory doras! Her appreciation for different animals is fuelled by her Bachelor of Life Sciences (Environmental Biology), where she learned about the physiologies of different animals and gained a greater appreciation of animals from all walks of life!
An avid Korean drama fan during her time off, Ying spends most of her free time catching up on the latest drama and picking up random Korean phrases. She also enjoys playing video/computer games (e.g. Overcooked, Theme/Two Point Hospital), swimming, and playing the cello (which has been shelved for now until she manages to find a way to safely bring her cello over from Singapore!)
