Here at Brunswick Central Vet Clinic over the past 6 months we have experienced some changes to our team, some of which have involved some sad goodbyes, but also some exciting additions.
We wish to share these changes with our lovely clients so that they can get to know our new Fam!
Dr Isobel Poulton (or less formally known as Izzy) joined our team in July this year. After graduating from the University of Melbourne in 2020, Izzy moved away from the city to work at a mixed practice clinic in Stawell – about 20 minutes from the Grampian ranges. Here, she worked with a variety of animals including kangaroos and echidnas! While thoroughly enjoying the challenge of mixed practice, she decided she wanted to focus more on small animal medicine, so moved back to Melbourne. Since then, Izzy has settled in nicely at the Brunswick Central Vet and has thoroughly enjoyed meeting all the wonderful clients and patients. Her bubbly and warm nature has seen her become a favourite amongst not just her fellow colleagues, but our clients and patients who she has built an amazing rapport with. Izzy has a particular interest in geriatric care and internal medicine. Izzy has a Red Heller X puppy and a Cat Sunny! Izzy wishes to share some exciting news with our clients that she is Pregnant and will be going on maternity leave from March for 12 months, but rest assured she is already looking forward to returning on a part time basis.
Swee is our most recent addition to our family of Vets. She comes to us with 27 years’ experience in the industry after graduating from the University of Melbourne in 1997. She became very well-known at the Preston Veterinary clinic after building her way up to a senior Veterinarian there for 21 years. She is committed to high clinical standards and takes great care and pride in delivering best practice medicine and providing her clients with care options to suit their needs. She has a special interest in Geriatric care, Skin and dermatology and absolutely loves Opthamology. Swee has thoroughly enjoyed getting to know our lovely clients and building a great relationship with their furry friends.
Georgia came to us in March this year and has been an asset to the nursing team. Her surgical knowledge and passion shine through in her work, and her leadership qualities has proved paramount in building her way up to a 2IC position. Georgia started working with animals after completing her Diploma of Animal Technology in 2020 and has recently completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. She has been working as a Vet Nurse for the past 3 years. Her passion is in surgical nursing, although she loves to work in all areas of the clinic. If she’s not at work, you can find her snuggling with her two Havanese dogs Wilbur and Wilfred while reading a good mystery novel.
Hannah is our most recent addition to the team, joining only just this month. She hails from New Zealand where she trained at Otago Polytechnic and WelTec. She recently decides to expand her horizons in a new country, much to our excitement and gain. She loves all aspects of the Veterinary Clinic, especially surgical nursing and has a special focus on creating a fear free atmosphere for any patient that visits us. She loves the close-knit team that Brunswick have and is entrenching herself into the family very quickly.
Unfortunately, as much as change can be exciting, it can also come with sad moments and we take this opportunity to say farewell to two of our beloved nurses. Stacey has recently said goodbye to Brunswick Central Vets as she embarks on her new family ventures in the country to raise her growing family.
We also prepare to bid farewell to Danielle, one of our main Surgical nurses who is following her partner to Ireland for 3 years while he completes further study. She would love the opportunity to return to Brunswick when her and her partner venture back to Melbourne in the coming years. Who knows, we may see her again! (and we hope to)
The team at Brunswick love to maintain their family atmosphere, and we appreciate that our lovely clients value continuity.
