Nurse gone Wild
Have you met Kellie our amazing Veterinary Nurse? She started here with us in BCVC just over a year ago where she has been a fantastic asset to the team.
She first started out studying Veterinary Biosciences before completing her cert IV in Veterinary Nursing. She has a soft spot for surgical nursing and anesthesia so you will most likely find her hanging out in the hospital with your fluffy friend. However, Kellie has always loved and had a keen interest in Australian wildlife and as they say "dreams do come true" as she recently gained a part time position with Healesville Sanctuary Wildlife Hospital where she gets to combine her two great passions, Veterinary Nursing and wildlife. In just a short amount of time she has performed anaesthetics on dingos, tasmanian devils and kangaroos, helped place a stomach tube in a turtle and assist with an echidna who had been hit by a car.
We are hugely proud of Kellie for pursuing her career goals and even happier that she can aid us all in the care of all our little wildlife friends that pop through the door.
